The NAGAP Governing Board
The NAGAP Governing Board consists of five elected officers and a number of appointed Directors. The Board oversees all of the activities of the organization.
Engagement Opportunities:
- Executive Officers: The elected officers include the President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Immediate Past President. Each position serves for a period of two years and is elected by a majority vote of the NAGAP membership in the spring.
- Directors:
- The Directors are appointed by the NAGAP President in consultation with the other Executive Officers. Directors generally have oversight of at least one committee or major project and meet in person quarterly. While Directors often have other volunteer or leadership experience in NAGAP, it is not a prerequisite.

NAGAP Committees
If the NAGAP Board of Directors are the conductors, the committees are the engines behind all of our important work. Committee membership can provide a great way to contribute to the field with options of varying time commitments. You can lead an important project or subcommittee or support a part of a critical effort - it's up to you how you'd like to contribute.

NAGAP Chapters
Similar to NAGAP, chapters generally have elected officers and committees to support their various activities. Chapters currently either serve a geographic region or special interest. Leadership involvement at the chapter level provides a great opportunity to contribute to the field on a smaller level. It can also serve as good preparation for deeper leadership leadership involvement in the future at the chapter or national level.

NAGAP Communities
NAGAP Communities provide an informal venue for GEM professionals to connect on common interests or affinities. They differ from chapters in that they are not independent legal entities and do not require bylaws or elections.
Take a leadership role by contributing to an active community or create a new one. Any active NAGAP member can establish a NAGAP Community as long as there are at least 15 active NAGAP members interested in participating in the Community.
