Jennifer Kiger Chapman is a GEM professional with marketing and recruitment experience at the graduate and undergraduate levels. She has worked at a variety of institutions including a small, private liberal arts college, a top-50 medical research institution, and a mid-sized public university where she currently represents 20+ graduate business programs.

After earning undergraduate and graduate degrees in the biomedical sciences, Jennifer discovered talents in marketing and communication and chose to focus her passion for serving others in an academic setting. In her current role, Jennifer continues to use a scientific approach when evaluating processes, analyzing data, and implementing new projects or changes, which helps her team focus their efforts on activities that impact enrollment growth. She has an innovative mindset and enjoys the fast-paced and ever-changing nature of GEM.

Jennifer currently leads the graduate recruitment efforts for the Bryan School of Business and Economics at University of North Carolina Greensboro. She has the pleasure of working alongside graduate recruitment staff, graduate assistants, student and alumni ambassadors, and program directors, to measurably increase graduate program enrollments. Since her arrival at the Bryan School, graduate program enrollment has increased by 40%, from 477 in Spring 2020 to 670 in Spring 2025.

Ryan Taughrin is the Assistant Dean for Enrollment Management at the University at Buffalo's Graduate School of Education. He has spent the last decade working in graduate enrollment management. His primary focus areas are on staff support and mentorship, recruitment practices for adult and non-traditional students, and developing programming to disenchant the hidden curriculum within graduate school. He has also spent the last seven years involved in NYGAP and NAGAP, hoping to build community with other folks across the GEM lifecycle. When he's not working, he loves spending time collecting records, enjoying bourbon with friends, riding his Peloton, and spending time with his family. And most important, Go Bills.

Sabrina L. Brown, MEd, MBA

Sabrina Brown is the Director of Graduate Recruitment at UNC Charlotte, with over 15 years of experience in higher education enrollment and student support. A UNC Charlotte alumna, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in English, a Master of Education in Counselor Education: Student Affairs from Clemson University, and an MBA from Tennessee Technological University. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership at Tennessee State University.

Passionate about education’s transformative power, Sabrina connects students with opportunities while advocating for inclusivity and equitable access. She has shaped graduate enrollment strategies, fostered student success, and supported diversity initiatives in higher education.

In addition to her professional work, Sabrina is actively involved in the National Association for Graduate Enrollment Management and its Southeastern Chapter. She also serves as board secretary for the Youth Development Initiative, Inc. based in Charlotte, North Carolina, reinforcing her commitment to mentorship and community engagement.

In her free time, Sabrina enjoys traveling, attending live events, and spending time with family, friends, and her cat, Riley.

With nearly 20 years at the University of Louisville, Tammy is a dedicated higher education professional specializing in student services, academic advising, operational efficiency, and organizational leadership. As a Program Manager in the School of Public Health and Information Sciences, she oversees daily operations related to student support, develops strategic initiatives to enhance the student experience, and ensures compliance with university policies and best practices.

A Student Champion (2021-2024) and Cardinal Leadership Institute graduate (2023), Tammy is deeply committed to fostering student success. She has presented at the National NACADA Conference and plays a key role in faculty and staff development through collaboration.

Beyond administration, Tammy is a part-time lecturer, teaching Organizational Leadership and Learning courses and mentoring students in career development.

She holds a Master of Science in Human Resource and Organizational Development and a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership and Learning, both from the University of Louisville. Passionate about student advocacy, collaboration, and continuous improvement, she is dedicated to creating a positive and supportive academic environment.

Dr. Broshears has 34 years of experience in Higher Education with her areas of focus being in student support and transition services. She served as Associate Dean of Students at the University of Texas Pan American a HSI with 70% of the population being first generation. She has worked with Substance Abuse Services, Residence life, Student Rec Services and Judicial Affairs. After 20 years she was ready for a new challenge and moved to UT-Health Houston where her focus is on developing accelerated master programs with minority serving institutions to increase the educational opportunities for undeserved students. She has a Bachelors in Psychology with a focus in addiction studies, Masters in Counseling, and a PhD in Organizational Leadership where her research focused on barriers to undeserved students matriculating to graduate programs.

Janet Kim, PhD. is the Recruitment Specialist in the College of Education at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. Her research focus is recruiting and supporting underrepresented populations into teacher education programs and bridging the fields of education, marketing, and enrollment management as a strategy for addressing teacher shortages. Her work includes distance and online recruitment methods and programs to meet
the unique needs of rural and remote populations across the state of Hawaiʻi. As a previous elementary special education teacher who became the first full-time recruitment specialist in the College of Education, Mrs. Kim advises students using first-hand experiences as a teacher in
combination with marketing and enrollment management practices to support prospective students into pursuing teacher preparation programs. She received her PhD in Education with a specialization in Exceptionalities at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa and was awarded the
2020 NAGAP Graduate Education Research Grant for her dissertation proposal, Understanding the Special Education Teacher Pipeline.
